Smoked Sausage and Cabbage

  • 1 head of cabbage, chopped into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 package of smoked sausage, sliced into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon of paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: chopped fresh parsley for garnish


  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Add sliced sausage and cook until browned on both sides, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Remove sausage from the skillet and set aside.
  4. Add chopped onion and garlic to the skillet and sauté until onion is translucent and fragrant.
  5. Add chopped cabbage to the skillet and stir to combine with onion and garlic. Cook for about 5 minutes, until cabbage begins to wilt.
  6. Season cabbage mixture with paprika, salt, and pepper to taste.
  7. Return sausage to the skillet and stir to combine with the cabbage mixture.
  8. Cover the skillet and let everything cook together for another 10-15 minutes, until the cabbage is soft and tender.
  9. Serve hot, garnished with chopped fresh parsley if desired.
